Uptown Sedona is the heart of Old Sedona. Here you get a taste of what Sedona was like in the earlier days. Located at the bottom of Oak Creek Canyon, this part of Sedona is very hilly and picturesque with incredible red rock views all around. Some of the oldest neighborhoods are located in Uptown, with a mixture of home styles anywhere from quaint cabins to the newer more modern styles of southwestern architecture. You will find some of Sedona's most upscale custom home areas here, such as Jordan Park Ridge, which offers some of the most spectacular Red Rock views and dramatic examples of the contemporary Southwestern architectural idiom. The Palisades off Brewer Road also has interesting custom homes of a variety of architectural styles on larger lots and hilly terrain which gives these properties very special views and privacy. Additionally, a number of smaller neighborhoods offer unique homes for a real flavor of 'Old Sedona'. This area also offers some of Sedona's rare Oak Creek frontage and irrigated properties.
The shopping in this area is a big draw for tourists, with the many art galleries attracting collectors and enthusiasts from all over the world. New-Age Metaphysical shops and specialty shops will provide you with a myriad of interesting and beautiful items to peruse through. World-class restaurants and little gourmet food shops attract not only the tourists, but the locals as well. Uptown Sedona is also home to the Sedona Art Center which offers a variety of classes and art exhibits to tempt and satisfy the artist in you.
